We offer disability support

Accessibilty Support

We are here to support you during your stay with any special needs. All Certified service animals are permitted to stay. No other animals are permitted for any reason. We can provide a pen & paper to help with the exchanging of information.  All our TV’s in cabin accommodation have closed-caption capabilities. Please discuss your needs with our friendly reception staff.

Reception Area

Riverview Reception is located onsiteThe tiled reception entrance has wheel-chair access leading directly to the office with a sliding door that measures 1.4m in width. The distance from the reception area to the cabins and campsites is quite lengthy. We recommend driving to your accommodation or campsite. Prior to arrival, you will be emailed reception opening hours and arrival information to ensure that you know where and when keys are available. We also offer after-hours check-in if required.

Parking

Our two bedroom accessible cabin has a designated parking space immediately adjacent to the cabin with plenty of room for access to the rear of a car. All campsites are grassed with room for a car to park on the site. Extra room for parking can be easily arranged if required when occupancy levels in the park allow. Please talk to our customer service team about this when booking.

Pathways

All paths throughout the caravan park are flat. They are shared roadways with some rounded speed bumps. Access from reception to the cabins or campsites is on flat shared roads which are shared with cars. It has a speed limit of 10km for cars.

BBQ Area

We have an undercover accessible BBQ area that has paved flooring. All paths to the BBQ areas are flat and easily accessible from units. See the full list of Riverview Facilities.

Beach & River Access

Ocean Grove Caravan Park

Waterfront Location

We are lucky at Riverview to have the Barwon River right out the front of the park. All our cabins are located on the waterfront or immediately close by as are many of our camp sites. A road and shared walkway separate Riverview from the river beach.

Ramped River Access

There are a few ramped access-ways to the river. These run between the road and the walkway. There is then a few ramps that join the walkway to the beach. These ramps are unfortunately not built to accessible grades. We hope these images give an indication of the slope and width.  The Barwon River is tidal, so at times there is a wider amount of sand before you get to the water than at other times.

Getting to the Beach

Ocean Grove’s main surf beach is beautiful and can be accessed for those with accessibility needs via a short two minute drive from Riverview. There are no wheelchair accessible paths from Riverview to the surf beach. The main surf beach car park had accessible toilets and showers and ramped access to the beach. Riverview reception staff can help with guests accessing the use of beach wheelchairs during your stay.

Making Sure You Enjoy Your Stay

At Riverview we are committed to providing suitable accessible accommodation and facilities for our guests, whatever their individual needs. Over the past year, we have had the assistance of a field officer from the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations to help us identify ways to improve the accessibility of our park and are aiming to continuously improve in this area as resources allow. We always welcome suggestions for improvements, so please let us know how we can better meet your needs.
