Traditional Custodians

We acknowledge the marine and coastal environment of the southern Bellarine Peninsula as the traditional lands and sea Country of the Wadawurrung people and recognise the Wadawurrung as Traditional Owners. The Riverview Family Caravan Park is located upon these lands today.

The coastline and marine environment in and around Riverview are rich in Aboriginal culture, and we pay respects to Wadawurrung Elders past present and future; and the Elders from other communities who may visit Riverview.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as Australia’s first people, and the Wadawurrung as Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which we work and our guests stay. We recognise the intrinsic connection to Country, acknowledging the contribution of Traditional Owners to the management of land, water, the natural landscape and our built environment.

We also recognise the legislative obligations to Traditional Owners and the Registered Aboriginal Party, the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation which are paramount in our responsibilities in managing Riverview.

We hope you enjoy your stay at Riverview and take time to consider and acknowledge the First People’s of the land and sea.
